A lot of useful information is only useful like its organization. The same applies to my mind, of course. Getting this information in different formats can help in learning, and it was fun in Google to try it for this purpose, especially dedicated audio materials with artificial intelligence hosts.
The latest addition is the new mind maps feature. Map of the mind is an ancient technology to organize your thinking using visual networks of information that links ideas together. Imagine a branching tree where each party is concept and every two branches is a supportive idea. They are great for people who are visually thinking.
Notebooklm version is mainly, but it is placed together by the artificial intelligence model. I decided to test this thing with two real cases: planning a garden and trying to become a burst in home reforms.
Garden
It was the first garden. I downloaded a pile of articles in which I was wandering – things about accompanying agriculture, high beds, original perennial, and loss, and this is a blog post where one of them divides by pouring beer on their tomatoes. Chewing Notebooklm through all of this and spitting a mental map upon request.
There were branches of planning, locations, and even the benefits of gardening, among other things. Each branch had a long list of “branches” that covered all types of citizens, as you can see above. Each of them was clicked, causing the conversation part of the Notebooklm conversation on this topic. It was very useful to keep all these elements organized.
DIY

The same applies to the DIY project. My home has this charming quality as things are broken for no reason. I have already tried to fix an leaked toilet once, which ended with me overwhelming the bathroom and watching a YouTube educational program through a veil of defeat.
This time, I came ready. I have downloaded evidence, indicative articles and some reliable reform blogs. Mind Maps collected categories such as planning, construction symbols and the basic DIY project list within seconds. I chose the installation of floors from that group of branches, and you can see solid floors, moisture barriers, and the expansion gap.
There was a strange calm thing about seeing the steps applied clearly. I click on “Door Hanging” and got an overview of different types of doors and how to prepare them from artificial intelligence. I felt as if I had a conversation with someone who actually knew what they were doing.
Various thinking
Notebooklm has already done a good job to summarize things, but the maps of the mind added a layer of clarity that made it feel almost touch. I was able to see how the ideas were connected and how it would help me learn faster.
This does not mean that it is perfect. Sometimes, the maps of the mind become very excited and begin to branch into the shadows that really don’t help. One tried to connect “fertilization” with “composition” music for gardens for some reason. With very specialized topics, artificial intelligence can still miss the mark by giving general advice when what you need is a specific thing, such as how to fix loose tiles without dismantling half of your kitchen.
I also love more manual control. Currently, you can move and explore maps, but you cannot modify them much. Sometimes, I want to withdraw a knot, rename it, or cut a completely unhelpful branch. However, this is NitPicks. The basic experience is solid, though.
The truth is that I did not expect to love the maps of the mind. I thought they would be a way to circumvent an elegant visual, something I play with once and then forget. But I think I will use it more, especially for any ambitious plans to improve my home and garden. In a world full of tabs, it is good to be the map.
