I have been using Microsoft Windows a few days ago Windows 3.1, but I have never been lovable OS. Instead, she mainly held her over the decades. I know how Windows works and when things are broken (which still do it a lot), I usually know how to fix things quickly.
On the surface, there may not seem to be a lot of common denominators between Windows 3.1 and Windows 11, but some things – especially the old features added in Windows 95 – continue to work the way they always have done.
While this causes problems – the Windows 11 operating system looks like a modern operating system that has been pasted over an old operating system sometimes – there is a certain comfort to use such a common product.
Also, although Linux and MacOS, the largest Windows competitors when it comes to operating systems, improves in games support, if you are a player in a personal computer who wants the widest set of addresses that can be played – such as I – then Windows 11 is the only option.
Nostalgia for the past, laziness, and being a hostage to my Games library, not the best reasons for continuing to use a product, a problem I feel that Microsoft was struggling with it for a long time.
Windows is the most popular desktop operating system in the world when it comes to user numbers – but it is not. common When it comes to … well … popular.
Although Microsoft wants people to love Windows, lack of affection is a danger to the company, because it means that competing operating systems find that it is easier and easier to win over Windows users.
With the end of life in Windows 10 in October 2025, this risk may be more evident as there will be many Windows 10 users looking to change operating systems after Microsoft stops the formal support system.
Although the Redmond-based company would like to move all of these users to Windows 11, there will be many users who are looking for other operating systems-and if people do not enjoy using Windows, but only stick to them, it will not be enough to ensure these users continue to use Windows.
Recently, Apple has provided some wonderful computing products, which means that I was using MacOS much more-both-both at home on MacBook Pro with M2 and working with Mac Mini M4.
With the computer I used in Windows that I use at work, I decided that it is time to make the key permanently and use Mac Mini as the main piotteg – thus stop using Windows 11 per day and instead of using MacOS Sequoia. This is what I found.

I did not miss it when getting rid of Windows 11
I was using MacOS for years as well, so I was not completely blind. However, I was removing the safety mesh from the deep familiarity that I have with Windows.
Two weeks after using MacOS as a single operating system for work, there was a lot of Windows 11 dodges that I was not missing.
For the beginning, I certainly did not miss the annoying ads and messages from Microsoft in an attempt to carry me more of its services, which is getting more annoying in Windows 11.
Where Windows 11 places games in the Start menu that I do not care about, ignores the default browser settings to open Microsoft Edge at any specific opportunity, and a popup appears trying to make me accelerate in Mamos Pass, MacOS is impressive.
There are still attempts to make you use the Apple ecosystem, but it seems to be less mob, and can be ignored mainly. It was the closest to the application of preferences as Apple was trying to convince me of trying AI tools known as Apple Intelligence. However, compared to Microsoft’s attempts to force me to use its artificial intelligence assistant, Copilot, this was less disturbing.

I also appreciate that when I used the Apple Safari browser to download Google Chrome, my favorite web browser, I didn’t bomb the messages and warnings you are trying to postpone – something that Microsoft is trying to do with varying degrees of despair when using Edge to download Chrome.
I also felt that MacOS respect my choices when I set applications other than Apple as virtual settings. Once I set Chrome as my default web browser, it was. Meanwhile, with Windows 11, I always felt that he was either trying to change my opinion or deceive me to use Edge, even when I explicitly set Chrome as a virtual web browser.
This includes accidents such as opening a web from inside the Start menu, the user interface area or inside the settings app – because it will ignore my settings and open the website in Edge.
After installing the big updates, Windows 11 will also display a screen that requires you to finish setting up your computer, and often includes an option to use recommended internet settings. If you don’t notice and click Just OK, you end up with your virtual browser again.

Another thing I did not miss is instability. Although I usually have a good idea of how to fix Windows 11 problems, it does not mean that it is less disturbing when you hit – sometimes there is no easy solution. At the same time, MacOS feels a lot of stability and reliability.
To be fair for Microsoft, mainly due to the expansion of the absolute devices that can run Windows 11, with computers and laptops of all types of upcoming manufacturers with different devices formations. It is essentially impossible to write a program for a number of devices close to childbirth and ensure that there are no errors or incompatibility problems.
Meanwhile, Apple is strictly traded by devices that MacOS operating devices to MacS and MacBooks that the company itself – can be harsh about cutting support for old devices as well. I am not a fan of this, but this means that Apple has a clear idea of the devices that will run MacOS, so it can easily ensure that the program works properly.
This does not mean that there are no problems with MacOS, but she feels less common – and in general, the user experience feels more stable.
On the other hand, when there is something Do Fracture in MacOS, I am often in a loss, while with Windows I have a good idea of what might cause the problem and how to fix it.

What I missed about Windows 11
Whenever I use MacOS every day, I found myself missing certain things around Windows 11 – Things that I had not given much before.
Perhaps the largest and least exciting thing is copying and paste. I am not talking about getting used to pressure CMD + c On a keyboard instead of Ctrl + c (It was annoying but soon became the second nature, and you can also change it to the Windows method to do things in preferences).
What I missed is the feature of paste the preservative in Windows 11.

Instead of using Ctrl + V Paste something, in Windows 11 you can click on Windows + V key To open a small menu that displays a history of the things you copied to the portfolio, making it easy to switch between the elements to paste quickly. It is one of the best features of Windows, and I truly He missed McCos.
I ended up installing a third party tool to do something similar, but it was not easy to use as an integrated feature of Microsoft.
When I work on the smaller screens of laptops, I also appreciate the ease of capturing windows on the left and right sides of the screen, making multiple tasks with a small screen much easier.
You only need to seize the menu bar from the window and pull it to the left or the right of the screen will enlarge the window so that it takes half of the screen. You can then do the same with a different window on the other side of the screen to get equal windows open side by side.
I often use Windows key + arrow key The keyboard shorten to make this process easier. When picking a window, Windows 11 can also show you other open windows to quickly wrap to the other side.

Although MacOS Sequoia has finally provided a similar feature, it is still not a spot like the Windows 11 app, and lacks some features. The ability to pull a window to the top of the screen in Windows 11 to open it on the screen accompanied by it is also something that I really miss when moving to MacOS.
To be honest, the portfolio of the preservative alone was sufficient for me to return to Windows 11. Despite all troubles and discomfort, this feature makes a difference in my daily function.
Therefore, Microsoft may be happy because she has not completely lost another customer (and I still use Windows on my computer), but I also want to understand that the best way can keep people using its operating system, and perhaps until one day Love Its operating system is not with artificial intelligence tricks and annoying ads for its services, but by focusing on simple features whatsApp works well and makes people’s lives easier.
What worries me is that Microsoft will not do it, and you will instead think that pushing Copilot in more applications will be a way to keep people who use Windows. Trust me though, he will not do it.
