The final two weeks of the season will be very difficult for the Wildcats as they try to reach bowl eligibility. But one thing they can’t afford is losing to the worst team in the Big 12, and that will be the problem this week.
The game
the Kansas State Wildcats (4-5, 3-3 Big 12) visit Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-8, 0-6 Big 12).

Pokes have always been a nightmare for K-State, no matter who wins the game; The Cats lead just 16-11 in the series since Bill Snyder came to Manhattan, and as a result Oklahoma State still leads the all-time series 43-28. This series has also been weighted very heavily toward the home team as of late. In Manhattan, the Cats routinely brutalized the Cowboys (including the worst loss ever suffered by a top-10 team), while Oklahoma State has won six times this century by less than a score in Stillwater.
Unfortunately.
However, Cats fans may be thankful that this Oklahoma State team is so rotten that they fired Mike Gundy, their most successful coach ever, in September. They are next to last in the FBS in scoring, not in P4, but in the entire FBS. They give up nearly 275 yards per game through the air. Only six FBS teams are worse (although three of them are in the ACC). They are somewhat inept against the run, but they still give up 170 yards a game. Add it all up, and the Cowboys have the worst defense in the Power Four, with only seven G6 teams giving up total yards per game.
On offense, they don’t cover 300 yards per game, and only three teams in all of the FBS score fewer points. So this game shouldn’t be too challenging for cats.

Kick-off
Saturday, November 15, 11:00 AM CT at Boone Pickens Stadium (52,168) in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Tickets
Empty seats everywhere, starting at $29 and averaging $55. Turns out even Cowboys fans don’t want to watch this.
weather
It will be sunny with temperatures climbing into the upper 50s when tracking actually begins, with the temperature rising to 74 degrees at kickoff. It will creep into the low 80s by the last gun, staying sunny. Not a bad day to spend at the stadium, if you’re close to it.
probability
K-State opened as a 19.5-point favorite, and Kings Project They still have it there with over 50.5. A quick check of our trusty TI-99 tells us the Cats win 35-15. The money line is -1450 for K State, and +850 for Oklahoma State. Oddsshark thinks the Cowboys will cover, but K-State will still win 26-12.
