How to cancel CyberGhost and get your money back

I came away from this CyberGhost review with a positive opinion, and felt it deserved its place in my best VPN roundup. However, even an expert review is subjective, and there is a possibility that CyberGhost will not work for you. If so, here’s how to cancel your subscription.

How to stop renewing your CyberGhost subscription

Canceling your CyberGhost subscription will not terminate it immediately, unless you delete your account or receive a refund (I’ll explain how to do both later). Alternatively, the way to cancel CyberGhost is to stop renewing your subscription at the end of each billing period. Once this is done, you can continue using CyberGhost until the current period expires.

The following steps will cancel the automatic renewal if you acquired CyberGhost through their website. If you purchased it through an app store instead, see the next section.

1. Open your browser and go to cyberghostvpn.com.

2. At the top right of the screen, click the box labeled My account. Enter your username and password if you are not already logged in.

3. Look at the top-right corner of the new screen and click the CyberGhost logo next to your email address. From the drop-down list, select Subscriptions.

4. Find and select the subscription you want to cancel Unsubscribe.

5. When prompted, click Follow up on cancellation.

This will turn off automatic billing for your account. The next time you are charged, your subscription will end. You can re-subscribe by purchasing another term. If you’re within the refund period — 14 days for a monthly subscription and 45 days for all other subscriptions — you can now request a refund.

How to cancel CyberGhost if you subscribe through the App Store

When you subscribe to an app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the store handles billing; The application provider does not process the funds itself. If you purchased CyberGhost through an app store and want to cancel, you will need to ask the applicable app store, not CyberGhost. Here’s how to do it.

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, you will need to cancel through your Apple ID. Here are the steps.

1. Open Settings The application is on your home screen.

2. At the top of the settings menu, you’ll see your name. Click on it.

3. In your Apple Account menu, tap Subscriptions.

4. Scroll until you find your CyberGhost subscription, then tap it.

5. Click on the words UnsubscribeThen follow the prompts.

Here’s what to do if you signed up through the Google Play Store. As with Apple’s process, you’ll view the list of subscriptions in your profile.

1. Open Google Play Store program.

2. Click on the circle in the upper right corner that contains the first letter of your name.

3. Search for Payments and subscriptions menu and click on it. In the next menu that appears, tap Subscriptions.

4. Scroll down until you find your CyberGhost subscription. Click on it, then click Unsubscribe.

5. Follow the prompts to complete your cancellation.

How to delete your CyberGhost account

Before you proceed to completely delete your CyberGhost account, make sure to cancel auto-renewal first by following the steps in the previous section. If you don’t, you may still be charged for a subscription you don’t use, and terminating without an account will be very difficult.

Once you do this, log in to your account cyberghostvpn.com And click your account profile at the top right, just as you did when you canceled auto-renewal. Below the Username/Password window and the message about the activation key, you will see the words Delete my account In lowercase letters.

Click on it. On the page that appears, select Delete my account once again. Follow any further prompts you are given to cancel your username forever (note that you cannot use it again after that).

How to get a refund from CyberGhost

To get a refund for your CyberGhost subscription, you must be within the window of your chosen plan. With the monthly plan, the refund period is 14 days. For all other plans, it’s 45 days. If this period has passed, there is unfortunately no way to get your money back.
