“Many people in Tanzania rely on three -wheel compounds because they are among the cheapest and most transportation. There are about 250,000 triple wheels in the country and most of them use internal combustion engines.
In 2022, I started working on TRí, a company in Dar Es Salaam aimed at making three -wheel transport more sustainable and affordable by selling electrical versions. Last year, we launched the second generation of vehicles, called E2, which contains more features, including a better scope and charger on board, which allows charging from standard ports. We have sold 200 E2s yet.
As a result, I assemble the triple electrical wheels and fix any mechanical or electrical problems that arise in those we sold. It takes about two and a half hours to assemble a vehicle from the group we receive from China, but repairs can take anything from one to two days, depending on the problem. For example, sometimes the lights do not work or the three wheels are turned on and stopped by them.
