I cut the cable for years, and like many people, I use my computer in Windows as a center of media. It works great, but the control of the computer from the sofa has always been pain. I have tried the Logitech wireless keyboard used by many people, and the RII wireless keyboard. Both work well, but they feel vibrant, and they are not very popular with less surprising people in my home.
While searching for a more elegant solution, hit me. The wireless game console can solve this problem, and I have happened that I have the old Xbox One wireless control unit that has not been used. After doing a little test and reading, I managed to connect the Xbox console to my computer, but the experiment left a lot of what is desirable.
Without deterrence, I have done more collapse and found an application called Joytokey. This lightweight light -weight utility allowed me to draw a map of control stories to keyboard shortcuts, and convert the dusty Xbox control unit to the perfect device to control home computer (HTPC). This is how I did that.

Delivery of my HTPC
The first thing you need to do is connect Xbox control unit to my computer. There are some ways to call: via a USB cable, a wireless or Bluetooth adapter. In my case, I used Bluetooth.
On my computer, I click the Start button> Settings> Bluetooth and devices. From there, you click add a device.
In the next dialogue, there are three options. Choose the right option for your connection. To form my country, I chose Bluetooth.
At this stage, you need to run my Xbox console. First, I installed some fresh batteries. Next, I run my console by pressing the X button in the center of the console. When it was turned on, X started slowly.
With the control unit, you need to get it in a pairing position. There is a small button at the front of the console. I had to press and keep it for three seconds, and I could see the X button began to flash faster, indicating that he was in a pairing position.
On my computer, the Xbox console appeared in the dialog box. I clicked on it, and the success, the Xbox control unit has been associated with my computer. Now, you need to set the console.

Using Joytokey to draw the control unit map
Use Joytokey You can set the keyboard and mouse panel inputs to any type of console. It also supports personal files, allowing you to create and store different configurations. Although it is free to experience the program, the full license costs $ 7.50. To install Joytokey, download the executive file and run the installer. When the preparation ends, the program will be opened.
Once the application is opened, you will notice that when clicking on any of the Xbox console or the control stick, it will be highlighted in Joytokey, which makes it easy to see the control items you draw. In the picture below, I will press the A button, and you can see the button lighting up on Joytokey.
To start, you renamed the 1st in the left column to the media center. It is now time to start setting the job I wanted to use in my console.
Mouse composition
First, I prepared the mouse function. I set the left control stick for the mouse movement. To do this, you click a double click on the Arrow Stick 1 option, which opened the task editor. In the dialog box at the top, there are several tabs: the keyboard, the keyboard (multiple), mouse, mouse (advanced), text and private. To set the mouse movement, you click the mouse tab and check the right direction in the mouse movement section. I click “OK”, then I did the same procedure for the option of the right arrow stick 1, the UP Arrow Stick 1 option, and the DowN Arrow Stick 1 option.
This preparation and many others have slides. These indicate that you can increase speed or allergies. In this case, the more pass, the faster the mouse. The mouse movement speed is hypothetical to 50 percent.
I had to appoint each of the four trends 1. When I finished, the 1st control stick dominates the mouse movement, and this seemed.
Prepare the right and left click of the mouse
Next, the buttons A and B attached to the right and left click of the mouse. I did this by double -clicking on the A button in Joytokey, and when the mission’s editor opened, I moved to the mouse tab and in the click of the Mouse, I check the left. I did the same thing for the B button, and right -click.
Preparing the mouse passing
To finish the mouse controls, you need to add the scrolling wheel. I decided to connect the mouse to scrolling to the trend pillow. I dual clicked on the trend pillow with the arrow up and opened the task editor. In this picture, you can see that I have moved the wheel sliding along the way. Then you click OK.
Just like Stick 1, I had to set the D-Pad up, below, left and right. When I finished, all mouse controls were working on my Xbox control unit. I can scroll up, down, left, right.
Switch the video with the full screen
On my computer, if I want to get my video, I simply press F. I love this function and I want to make it part of the control unit of my media center. I set this on the width button on the left side of the Xbox button. This is the seven button in Joytokey. After clicking a dual click, put the task editor, I went to the keyboard tab, wrote f, then clicked on OK.
Now, when you browse YouTube or watch videos, I can easily switch the screen to fill the screen and stop it.

There is a full world of great control units there, just waiting to verify them.
Forming the volume control items
What is the media control unit that will be completed without a way to control the sound level? I wanted to tie the sound level to the left trigger, and below the sound level to the right trigger. To draw this map, in Joytokey, you click Double Capture on the left operator and open the task editor and pressed the FN+F3 switches, then clicked on OK.
Now, I had to appoint the appropriate operator to reduce its size. I passed the same process. You have click on the double click on the right operator in Joytokey and went to the keyboard tab. This time, I press FN+F2 together to set the volume. When all of this has been, I can control the size of my computer using the right and left operators on my console.
The formation of the virtual keyboard
To make my console as functional, I wanted to access the buttons to the keyboard on the screen. In Windows, to show the virtual keyboard, you can click on Ctrl+Windows+O. I set this function to the menu button sitting on the right of the Xbox button, at the center of the console. You click Double Click on the list of the list in the Joytokey and went to the keyboard tab. There, key strikes were placed in one time, CTRL at the top, Windows button in the middle and then O in the third square. After clicking on OK, everything has been set.
Now, I can, with the menu button click, bring the Windows virtual keyboard and write an email or URL.
Prepare play buttons and stop temporarily
Any good media console must have the ability to play and stop the video. Of course, with the configuration I did here, you can use the mouse and click on the operating buttons or temporary suspension, but I wanted to set this function to my X button. You click Double Click on the X button in Joytokey and set the keyboard shortcut for playing and stopping the video, which is the spacebar. Then you click OK.
The composition was hard at first, but after a few minutes on the Joytokey user interface, it became easy to form the things I care about. Now, I have an elegant solution to my wireless keyboard problems, my friends and friends are more comfortable using it than the wireless keyboard preparation.
