HOA-loving neighbor calls neighbor ‘turf fighter’

An anti-lawn Redditor recently shared a screenshot from Twitter, in which an HOA-loving homeowner hilariously complained about his neighbor’s yard.

The post appeared on r/nolawnsa subreddit whose users choose beautiful, practical, and low-maintenance alternatives to traditional lawns. Many users have shared horror stories about struggling with their homeowners’ lawn requirements, so sympathy for homeowner associations (HOAs) is rare.

Twitter user Nick Hopper Apparently (@sweatystartup) feels differently.

“This is what you get without an HOA,” he said chirpShare a photo of a neighbor’s yard. “We have one place in our neighborhood that is not governed by the HOA law, and that is what we get as neighbors.”

Hopper’s dramatics notwithstanding Complaintsthe yard in question seemed rather tame. It’s unclear whether his biggest problem is a small pile of trash in the driveway, a sign expressing political views like “Black Lives Matter” and “Science is Real,” or a yard full of thriving wildflowers.

“Wow, is he serious?” one asked commenter.

Another Redditor responded: “Looking at his other tweets, yeah. In this thread, he’s getting a lot of responses hating on HOAs and telling him to mind his own business. He’s doubling down on his efforts.”

The Redditor then shared a link to another one of Huber’s Tweetwhere he complained that “broke people shouldn’t buy into an HOA.”
