Hilary Duff celebrated her return to music with a song, Maturebut it was not originally rooted in a positive experience.
The 38-year-old singer and actress revealed that she was inspired by a “brief” but difficult experience in her life with an ex-partner.

Duff continued, “I was looking at this relationship and thinking if this guy was in the habit of dating younger women or if I was ‘special.'” The whole experience was very therapeutic to write about, but being so vulnerable through your music can be really scary.
the Transformation The hitmaker wrote the song with her husband, Matthew Koma, and songwriter Madison Love, and recalled that “part of it was an idea that Matt came up with, and part of it came from thinking about the idea of not recognizing younger versions of yourself when you’re now in your 30s.”
The record represents a full-circle moment for Duff, as he talks a lot about finally making peace with your choices.
