Hey, how about diversity, Karen? Los Angeles Mayor Bass laments Hispanics signing up to work for Border Patrol – RedState

Democrats are all about diversity, as they’ll tell you at every opportunity. But for them, diversity only matters if the minorities in question are on the right side of the political aisle; Democrats don’t really care about women, Latinos, or any other “oppressed populations” if they have a conservative bent.





Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass provided further evidence of that on Friday when she expressed sadness that Hispanics were lining up for high-quality, well-paying jobs that will help keep America safer. How dare they join the US Border Patrol, when of course they are angry at the leftist propaganda group Known as CNN:

“Well, in a way, I think it’s sad,” Bass said of a CNN report of a CNN report. Border Patrol New recruits, many of whom are Hispanic.

Here’s my favorite line from another CNN segment on this topic: One Hispanic border agent tells the truth when he talks about law enforcement against “people like him”:





“They didn’t come the right way,” Juan Peralta, 20, a Border Patrol recruit, told CNN’s David Culver. “So, they’re not my type.”

I bet that’s not what CNN wanted to hear.

More than half of border agents are Hispanic Government reports. Many are taking advantage of the rewards offered by the Big Beautiful Bill, the Trump-backed budget measure he signed into law on the Fourth of July.

New Border Patrol agents are eligible for incentives of up to $60,000. According to the agencyincluding $10,000 after completing the academy and an additional $10,000 if assigned to a remote location.

“CBP is committed to recruiting and retaining the best talent for our critical mission,” CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said last week. “By offering competitive incentives, we are investing in skilled professionals who will help secure America’s borders and enhance national security.”





For Bass, well-paying jobs are something to be frowned upon if they are not intended for the awakening professions:

“I understand their primary motivation is financial,” the mayor said. “I think this just speaks to the financial situation that millions of Americans find themselves in.

“I’m certainly concerned about this report.”

How dare Americans address their finances and enforce our laws in this country?

The mayor makes it seem like it’s something less than her for people to get a paycheck and take care of themselves and their families. Meanwhile, she’s wandering around More than $300,000 a yearSo it’s easy for her to say that.

As she and failed Golden State Gov. Gavin Newsom prove almost every day, California progressives are a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern Democratic Party.
