The home of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, who died in a plane crash in December, was burglarized around Jan. 7-8. According to the Associated Press. The alleged burglary was reported to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on January 8, and the Morrisville, North Carolina, home was last known to be secure on the afternoon of January 7.
According to the report, someone allegedly broke into the home and stole $30,000 in cash, as well as a backpack, guns and memorabilia. No one was home when the alleged crime occurred, and no arrests have been made despite police investigating.
“We are working on the case,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said. “We are waiting for some digital evidence.”
On December 18, Biffle He was among six people killed in a plane crash at nearby Statesville Regional Airport. Three members of the Biffle family – wife Emily and children Emma and Ryder – also died in the accident. The plane took off from the airport at around 10am before returning just 15 minutes later, when it crashed while trying to land.

Biffle, 55, competed in 515 races during his 16-year career in the NASCAR Cup Series. He has 19 wins and 175 top-10 finishes. Biffle has competed several times for the Cup Series championship, with his best finish in the series coming in 2005 when he finished second behind Tony Stewart.
