
On Monday, China called for more unity among the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which includes Russia, India, Iran and other non -NATO countries.
“We must seek a common ground while setting differences aside,” President Xi Jinping said at a summit in the Chinese city of Tianjin in Tianjin.
Xi also warned of the mentality of the Cold War and the confrontation.
The Chinese president stressed that Sco should bear the responsibility for guaranteeing peace, stability, development and prosperity throughout the region.
He highlighted the organization’s achievements, including anti -terrorism and industrial investment cooperation, saying that SCO members collect an annual economic outcome of about $ 30 trillion.
She was established 24 years ago to enhance security cooperation and economic relations, and now it has 10 member states: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan and Iran (since 2023) and Belarus (since 2024).
While the organization places itself as a balance of Western alliances, it has often struggled to present a unified front on recent global conflicts and conflicts.
China and India, for example, have long been disputed lands along its common borders, while India and Pakistan clashed in May after a terrorist attack.
