Eagles rooting guide for NFL Week 15 games

Sunday the 15th of the 2025 NFL Regular Season has arrived!

Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles– A focused rooting guide for all remaining Week 15 games.

NFC Focus East

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Philadelphia Eagles: The magic number for the Eagles to win the division is three. By defeating the Raiders, it is down to two. Go bird.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Dallas Cowboys: If the Eagles beat the Raiders and the Cowboys lose to the Vikings, the Eagles could clinch the NFC East in Week 16 with either 1) the Eagles beating Washington on Saturday…or…2) the Cowboys losing to the Chargers on Sunday. Root for Vikings.

NFC playoff picture

Here’s a look at the current photo of the NFC matchup via ESPN:

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Falcons beat the Bucs on Thursday night, which is good for the Eagles because it keeps Philly from falling to the No. 4 seed. Bucs lost.

Cleveland Browns over Chicago Bears: The Bears hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles so Philly doesn’t want them to get back to the top of the NFC North. A Brown win also gives the Jets a chance to move ahead of Cleveland in the draft standings. Root for browns.

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos: The Eagles need to lose to the Packers multiple times for Philly to move into the No. 2 seed. Root for Bronco.

Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams: The Eagles getting the No. 1 seed at this stage is a long shot (0.1% chance). It’s better to root for the Lions to lose and not make the playoffs because there are less threatening teams (like Chicago and San Francisco) that can beat them. Root for rams.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints: A loss to the Panthers keeps the Eagles from falling into the No. 4 seed. The Eagles don’t want to play the No. 2 seed in the NFC West in the first round. The Saints’ win also gives the Jets a chance to move ahead of New Orleans in the draft standings. Root for saints.

Indianapolis Colts at Seattle Seahawks: In this very unlikely chance of the Eagles getting the top seed, they need the Seahawks to not win. Root for ponies.

Draft selection considerations

Here are the current 2026 NFL Draft standings for non-playoff teams, via Tankathon:

New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the better the pick will be for the Birds. Root for Jaguar.

Washington’s New York Giants leaders: The Giants are currently projected to get the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Leaders aren’t far behind at No. 6… but it would be better to see the Giants not get the top pick and either use it to select the best prospect available (in theory) or trade him to a quarterback-needy team for a significant amount of assets. Root for the giants.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals’ win helps keep Cincy below the Jets in the draft pecking order. Root for the Bengals.

Arizona Cardinals at Houston Texans: The Eagles want the Jets to remain ahead of the Cardinals in the draft order. Root for the Cardinals.

Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers: A Giants win gives the Jets a chance to get ahead of Tennessee in the draft order. Root for the Titans.

What’s left?

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs: Guessing the strength of a tiebreaker win won’t matter for the Eagles but if it does happen…a Chiefs win helps them in that regard. Root for bosses.

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots: If the Eagles can beat the Bills, Philly will benefit from Buffalo being as good as it can be to score the tiebreaker. Root for bills.

Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers: It doesn’t matter.
