Sean “Diddy” Combs may not remain behind bars for as long as expected.
according to Delivery timethe disgraced rapper’s legal team scored a win that could speed up his appeal and potentially reduce his 50-month prison sentence.
Days after he was transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution — a less secure prison at Fort Dix, New Jersey — a federal appeals judge granted Combs’ defense team an expedited schedule. The ruling, issued by US Circuit Court Judge Beth Robinson, sets the first round of depositions for December 23, 2025, with oral arguments to begin as early as April 2026.
“It is hereby ordered that the motion be granted,” Robinson wrote in her summary ruling, giving Combs’ legal team everything they asked for.
The expedited timeline means the 55-year-old Bad Boy Records founder could have his appeal heard before its current release date of May 8, 2028.
Combs’ attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, submitted the request last week, and the court approved it without opposition.
This decision follows the rapper’s sentencing on October 3, when he was sentenced to four years in prison for transportation to prostitution, along with a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release.
If convicted of the more serious RICO and sex trafficking charges, Combs could have faced life behind bars. But for now, Diddy is settling into his new surroundings at Fort Dix FCI, where he is said to be spending time with fellow inmate and former NBA player Sebastian Telfair.
TMZ I obtained the first photos of Combs inside the prison at FCI Fort Dix over the weekend, which showed him in high spirits as he smiled from ear to ear and laughed with fellow inmates.
