Dan Goldman gets a satisfying education after gaslighting about attacks on ICE – RedState

It doesn’t matter what the topic is, if it’s a day that ends with the letter “y,” Democrats will make light of it, something we’ve all become familiar with over the years, especially in 2025 as they do everything they can to obstruct President Trump and his agenda.





In few cases has this been more evident than in the cases of crime and illegal immigration, where we are constantly told that crime is not a big problem, we are “reassured” that whatever crime problems blue cities face can be dealt with locally, and we are told that attacks against ICE are made-up stories.

It was the attacks against ICE that became a major bone of contention on CNN’s “NewsNight” on Wednesday, where Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) ended up embarrassed by facts he conveniently ignored from his anti-ICE rhetoric.

Goldman is a legend in his own mind, a trait that has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion, as we have widely documented.

The latest case occurred in the context of a debate over whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement must wear masks during immigration sweeps.

Anchor Abby Phillip was doing her thing by declaring that ICE agents do not need to wear masks for their safety and well-being. This prompted Rightside Media radio presenter Phil Williams to step in to explain why they are actually needed.

“My point is, if there are apps being created, Abby, which is what it is, there are apps being created — the sole purpose of going after ICE agents,” Williams correctly pointed out. “And there are people showing up at their homes, and their families are being threatened. Why don’t we do that?”





Goldman responded by questioning whether attacks on ICE actually existed, suggesting there was no evidence behind the “1,000 percent increase in attacks” figure provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

“Do we know this for sure? Because I keep hearing this,” Goldman grumbled. “I haven’t seen ICE — we keep talking about a 1,000 percent rise [in ICE attacks]. I haven’t seen examples of that.”

Williams was having none of that. “I know that was true. You’re ignoring the facts.”

“There were just shootings in Dallas and Alvarado, Texas at ICE facilities, you remember that, right? That’s where people actually died,” Williams responded, looking at Goldman as if he had lost his mind.

After Goldman claimed without evidence that he condemned the attacks (although he somehow managed to exclude them from discussion of the issue), Williams added: “This is a clear example of what we’re talking about.”

During another segment, Goldman tried to play teacher’s pet with Phillip, saying it was interesting how many times she claimed to have fact-checked conservative panelists, including Williams.

Williams, who previously had to fact-check Goldman’s attacks against ICE, stepped in again to do a reality check. Here’s how back and forth hostel:

GOLDMAN: But I think that’s part of the problem that we have is that we choose — some people choose stories that are not supported by any evidence or evidence —

WILLIAMS: You have members of Congress from your party protesting at ICE – (CROSSTALK)

GOLDMAN: I’m happy to let you speak.

WILLIAMS: The truth is, you just made fun of me, but now I’m telling you that you have members of your party showing up at protests, and members of Congress being arrested for protesting at ICE facilities, and you want to make fun of us about whether or not we fact check? How about this? The Democrats made a mistake – (CROSSTALK)

GOLDMAN: What is — what is — (crosstalk)

WILLIAMS: You’re absolutely on the wrong side, you’re on the wrong side of history in all of this, and you know it. You are on the absolute wrong side of history. Your party has destroyed this nation’s border control policies. It has allowed 11 to 12 to 13 million people to flow across the border. (crosstalk)

GOLDMAN: I guarantee you — (CROSSTALK)

WILLIAMS: And now we’re dealing with it.

GOLDMAN: I can guarantee you —

WILLIAMS: And you don’t want to deal with the fact that we have to deal with that.





He watches:

While Democrats say and do a lot of stupid things, pretending that incidents of violence that don’t fit their narratives don’t exist is extremely dangerous and actually only serves to inspire extremists on their side to commit more acts of violence.

Think about it — in March, amid domestic terrorist incidents at Tesla dealerships, Goldman declared that the FBI and DOJ’s crackdown on criminals was the DOJ’s alleged “political weaponization” of what he implied were merely peaceful protests — and he said that in response to a story that very clearly implied it was “violent The ‘Tesla attacks’ that were the focus of the FBI and DOJ, not the protests:

While attacks against Tesla sites appear to have subsided, there has been a steady increase in attacks on ICE agents over the past few months, including attempts to kill them.





That a current member of Congress like Dan Goldman should be reminded of this in the context of the broader discussion about the need for ICE agents to take action to protect themselves is a strong indication, in my view, that his failure to mention them was not because he simply forgot about them, but because he hoped others had already done so.

This man continues to be portrayed as a bad faith actor, and his inflammatory rhetoric and cherry-picking of “facts” contribute to this climate in which Democrats and their fanatical supporters increasingly accept violence as an acceptable answer to political disagreement. Good for Williams for standing his ground and not taking it.
