“When I tell people that I am a marine biologist, everyone believes that I swim with dolphins and whales. In fact, I spend my time in collecting mussels, oysters, crabs and seaweed to test their behavioral and physiological responses to the precise tiles.
In this photo, which was taken in October 2024 near the village of hafnarfjörður in southwestern Iceland, I collect samples of European green crab, Carcinus MaenasFrom a thick bed from Ascophyllum NodosumSeaweed. The length of these algae reaches 0.5 to 2 meters, and can cover the beach.
I did my doctoral studies at the Marine Sciences Center at Al -Garf University in Faro, Portugal. While I am waiting to defend my thesis, I do post -doctorate at Lille University in France. In my research, my colleagues and I compare the impact of exact plastic on GMT of several types, including some mollusks and crustaceans.
