Chevy Chase says ‘Saturday Night Live’ 50th anniversary special ‘painful’

Chevy Chase talked about being excluded from Saturday Night LiveHis 50th anniversary celebration reveals that he was “injured.”

The 82-year-old actor and original Saturday Night Live cast member revealed CNN movieupcoming documentary, I’m Chevy Chase and you’re not, He was disappointed not to be included in it SNL50: Anniversary Special.

“Well, it was kind of annoying actually,” Chase said. “This is probably the first time I’ve said it. But I expected that I would also be on stage with all the other actors.”

Chase admitted that the appearance of other cast members left him confused while he was not included.

“When Garrett [Morris] And Larin [Newman] I got on stage there, and I was curious as to why I didn’t do it. No one asked me to do that. Why did you leave me aside?

Chase also questioned his absence from the popular Weekend Update segment. “Why was Bill Murray there and why wasn’t I? I don’t have an answer for that.”

He also shared that he brought up the issue with SNL creator Lorne Michaels.

“I mentioned it once in a text message to Lorne and then I brought it up again,” he said, adding: “But it’s not that ridiculous… They should have put me on that stage. It was painful.”

For those who don’t know, Chase has been a part of SNL since its debut in 1975 and was the show’s first weekend update anchor.
