Charmin Reed brings the excitement feather to Windsor schools

Olympian, Charin Red and Windsor, visited this week to encourage local students to survive, set goals and chase their dreams.

Reed has been traveling around the world over the past nine years through a very stimulating fitness program to set goals for children called S’cool Mission.

“If you are practicing, you are improving anything you do, whether it is reading, mathematics or hockey,” Red told the star. “I try to tell students that it is not only about recovery.

“It is about challenging yourself to be your best.”

Red stopped through the schools of Estvio Huraizon and Prince Edward Government on Monday to involve students in the feather demonstrations. Students also got an opportunity to watch Olympian while she was taking the teachers in a vibrant match.

“All hands rise when I need volunteers, which is amazing, because sometimes students are afraid and do not want to try different things, but their hands rose.

“Children were really in it.”

Schools also received new feather equipment from Canadian Tyre Jumpstart.

Fort Erie spent her career playing competitive feather ball at the highest level, competing in the Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and throughout America.

She won gold and four silver medals.

“If you have a goal or a dream, work for him,” said Reed. “It can change, but I believe in yourself and be the best you can.
