The Hockey for Girls in Lakeshore scored a national victory – not on ice, but through kindness that will help in financing local cancer research.
U11 Lakeshore Lightning White won the Chevrolet Canada Cup, which challenges the minor hockey teams in the league to respond to their societies by spreading their good works on social media.
“Everyone is on the ninth cloud,” said team organizer, Chantel Medose. “The girls could not believe that they already won the cup.”

Since January, the All-Girls team has completed 1,288 good works via Windsor and Essex County. Their actions ranged from kindness from the dried corridors to the support of the local UNITED Way events.
By winning, the team wins $ 100,000, which will be donated to play for treatment, which is an organization that funds cancer research through events and championships throughout the region.
“I think this has affected them for the rest of their lives,” Miduz told the star.
“They learned things they did not know before, such as what the food bank is, how their donations affected the food bank, and how a difference in the future can occur through donation or volunteering.
“He brings tears to my eyes, and they learn about this at an early age. He left this impression of them.”

The players in second and third places, U11 Huntsville Sting Black and U11 East York Bulldogs, 20,000 dollars and $ 10,000, respectively, for the selected Canadian charities.
