Amiro is assaulted at a meet-and-greet at TwitchCon, and social media erupts in anger

Amero criticizes Twitch for its poor security arrangements

Amiro, a popular American YouTuber, recently suffered a tragic accident while attending a meet-and-greet session at TwitchCon.

The three-day convention was held in San Diego, and on its first day, the famous cosplayer was assaulted during the event.

On Friday, a video of a man walking straight up to Amero, trying to grab her for a kiss, went viral. The clip showed the broadcaster trying to push the man away.

Only her personal security personnel stepped forward to protect her, while TwitchCon’s security personnel remained motionless and did not even move to help her.

Emiru released an official statement via X, where she criticized Twitch for the way they handled the situation.

It stated in its statement that the man “was allowed to cross multiple barriers at TwitchCon and even in front of other streamers who meet and greet me, grab my face, and try to kiss me.”

However, the organizers also responded by saying that they had immediately banned the individual from returning to the event.

The incident sparked a storm on social media with fans saying Twitch should apologize to Emiru for the horrific act.

One wrote: “Damn, Twitch needs to apologize and let you have your good security guard back. Hope you’re doing well.”

At the same time, some are raising concerns that such a platform should be sued due to its lack of security.

“Please sue Twitch for lack of security or terminate their streaming service and stay safe out there.”

Another social media user commented: “Justice for @emiru.jpg No one deserves to be attacked at twitchcon and security is a failure and shame on the man standing next to her watching what happens.”
