Adam Duritz has spoken candidly about his past relationship with Courteney Cox, admitting that her success was never easy.
Speaking in the band’s new documentary, Counting Crows: Have you seen me lately? The 61-year-old musician reflects on his mid-’90s romance with friends star, and revealed that their differences ultimately proved difficult to overcome.
For those who don’t know, Duritz dated Cox after previously being in a relationship with Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston.
While the relationship lasted longer than many others, Duritz admitted it was complicated from the beginning.
“Kourtney has probably been my longest relationship, but I don’t know if we’ve really been together in a lot of it,” he said candidly.
According to the singer, their contrasting personalities often make them out of sync.
“We were very different people,” he explained.
“And there were really great moments together and there were moments where it was really difficult.”
Duritz went on to outline the underlying issue behind their breakup, admitting, “We weren’t on the same wavelength.”
