A$AP Rocky is celebrating a major career moment, and he’s crediting Rihanna for helping inspire the moment.
The rapper received the CFDA Fashion Icon Award on November 3, and while accepting the honor, he took a moment to thank Rihanna, who stood in the audience to support him.
“Baby, I love you, Bo,” he said to her, reminding her of the promise he had made one day.
He remembers saying to her years ago: “You, you inspire me. I’m going to win this— one day. Every award, remember that—? And look–we did it, baby!”
His enthusiasm sparked cheers from the audience as he proudly held up the award.
The night was also a date night for the couple, who walked the red carpet at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
Rihanna kept her look simple and elegant in a long black Alaïa coat cinched at the waist, a black turtleneck and flowing white pants set at the heel. She described her outfit as a “postpartum look.”
Rocky wore a Chanel suit with white rolled cuffs, a yellow V-neck jacket, and cream Chanel shoes with black tips. He paired the look with layered diamonds, an opal brooch, and classic gold jewelry.
The couple, who first linked up as friends more than 10 years ago, confirmed their relationship in 2020.
Since then, they’ve welcomed three children: sons RZA, 3½, and Riot, 2, and most recently a daughter, Rocki Irish, born in September.
Rocky recently said that Rocky is the best thing he has created this year.

Rocky also sparked new marriage speculation. In an interview published on October 29, he described life at home as being about “being a loving father, partner and husband in my family.”
He talked about how family and creativity keep him grounded. His phrasing fueled assumptions, especially after a similar insinuation in September, when he mocked his relationship status by asking: “How do you know I’m not already married?”
At the time, he refused to confirm anything, saying only: “I still can’t confirm it.”
Rihanna, who won the same CFDA award in 2014, remains his biggest inspiration, and based on her speech, this accomplishment seemed like something they earned together.
