An Israeli soldier sleeps in the West Bank.

The issue of soldiers’ sleep has led to security incidents over the past month. Two weeks ago, an IDF soldier was mistakenly left behind during an operation last week near Qabatiya, a Palestinian town south of Jenin in the northern West Bank, after falling asleep.

The soldier was left alone for 40 minutes before he eventually contacted a different unit.
