
Interior Minister Panskovsky said that fifty -five people were killed and more than 100 people were injured when a fire broke out in a nightclub early on Sunday in the northern Macedonian town of Kokani.
Toskovsky said that the fire was caused by the “fireworks” used during a concert.
He said: “The sparks caused the fire … and the deployment of fire in the disk.”
A video clip of this event, which was verified by Reuters, shows a band that is played on the stage surrounded by the presence of flares that launch white sparks in the air. She put sparks on the ceiling over the band, which seems to give up the video.
Television footage of a local broadcaster showed.
The MRT broadcaster in northern Macedonia said that 27 people were taken to the hospital at Skopi City Hospital with severe burns, and 23 others were treated at the clinical center. Among the injured were minors.
The fire broke out at 3:00 am in Kokani.
“This is a very difficult and sad day for Macedonia! The loss of many small lives cannot be repaired, and the pain of families, loved ones and friends is not measured,” Prime Minister Hréstejan Mikusky said in a Facebook post.
“I invite all specialized institutions – health services, and relevant authorities – to take urgent measures to help the injured and support families’ families.”
