A man escapes from Titanium Heart for 100 days – first world

An Australian man in his forties became the first person in the world to leave the hospital with an artificial heart made of titanium. The device is used as a stop party for people with heart failure awaiting the heart of the donor, and the former receivers of this type of artificial heart remained in American hospitals while it is in place.

The man lived with the device for more than three months until he underwent surgery to receive a donor human heart. The man recovers well, according to a statement issued by St. Vincent Hospital in Sydney, Australia, where the operations were conducted.

“This is definitely an important development in this field,” says Julian Smith, a heart surgeon at the Victorian Heart Institute at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
