Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski will meet European leaders at a vital summit in London on Sunday, after he left his exceptional argument with US President Donald Trump at the Western Oval Office who threw the future of Russia’s war of Ukrain in a state of deep uncertainty.

The Ukrainian leader said that King Charles before an invitation to meet Zelinski on Sunday.

Zelensky fell in Britain on Saturday before the talks, which the West hopes to refresh the momentum towards an acceptable peace agreement that appears to be built slowly this week, only to achieve in a few bad minutes on Friday.

UK Prime Minister Kiir Starmer and Zelinski met at Downing Street on Saturday, when the two men signed an agreement to accelerate 2.8 billion dollars to Ukraine. The first segment of funding is expected to be disbursed next week, according to the UK government.

But the leaders are at the Sunday Summit – which includes presidents and prime ministers from all over Europe, held by Starmer – will face a difficult challenge for them.

“It is very important for us to get President Trump’s support,” Zelinski said in a series of jobs at X on Saturday morning. “He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than we do.”

“We have fought for three years, and the Ukrainian people need to know that America is next to us,” he said.

The scene of the American president and the vice president abandoned the leader of the war ally, which amazed Europe and was the pleasure of the Kremlin. He added to the Sunday summit, which initially sought to build on the progress that was achieved during a similar meeting in Paris at the end of last week.

Trump and JD Vance Zelinski were accused of not beneficial to American military support, for “gambling with the lives of millions of people”, and the risk of “World War III” by fighting the Russian invading army in his country.

The scenes were the worst nightmare in Europe. One day before the screaming match, Starmer managed that Trump from tramp to the back, previous false statements that Zelinski was a “dictator”, expressing his “respect” to the leader of Ukraine and even the possibility of Ukraine to give up the occupied territories from Russia in the ceasefire deal. All of these comments were noticeable repercussions from Trump, and it appears to have placed the table well on the Zelinski trip.

Now Europe starts from the first box again.

Three years after the brutal invasion of Russia for Ukraine, we are at a turning point. Starmer said in a statement before the London Summit:

“In partnership with our allies, we must increase our preparations for the European component of security guarantees, as well as continuous discussions with the United States,” he said. “It is time to unite in order to ensure the best result of Ukraine, protect European security, and secure our collective future.”

The summit will have three goals, according to Downg Street: Ukraine’s needs in the short term, securing a “permanent deal” to end the conflict, and “planning strong security guarantees.”

As European leaders rushed to reaffirm their support to Zelinski on Friday evening, Starmer was significantly silent. A few hours later, we learned why: Downing Street said he had spoken to Trump and Zelinski after their hot meeting. “He keeps his fixed support for Ukraine and plays his role to find a path to permanent peace, based on the sovereignty and security of Ukraine,” said Starmer.

The role of the axes between Europe and the White House is one of the Starmer that it takes seriously, even – perhaps in particular – when it looks unjust. It is one who hopes to reap the rewards this week, but the increasing sense of despair is its position.
