Baroneh Moon and her husband Doug Barman accused the great investigation of “covering up the institution” after their second attempt was refused to give an official role in the investigation.
The couple claimed that they were “charming political pursuit” targets after the investigation head, Barouna Halit, refused to be submitted their request “the main participants”.
PPE MedPro, a company led by Mr. Barrowman, has obtained government contracts worth more than 200 million pounds after Baroness Mone recommended ministers.
If approved, the official situation would have allowed the couple to access inquiries, data and apply for witness questions.
Barona Halit first refused her approach in February, saying that she came 468 days after the deadline for submitting applications, and she did not accept to have a big role enough “in matters to be investigated by the investigation.”
She had previously said that her main focus was on the approach of ministers and the government, instead of the PEPE suppliers (PPE).
Covid is achieving four weeks of listening sessions looking in deals to buy 15 billion pounds of personal protection equipment during Covid.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has been investigating PPE MedPro since May 2021 regarding the suspected criminal crimes committed in the purchasing process.
Until now, no charges have been brought out and no prosecution service has been brought in the case. Buruna Moon, 53, and Mr. Barman, 59, denied any violations.
A special hearing on the company will be held behind the closed doors next week after Baroneh Hallett said that it is satisfied with the existence of a danger to the continuous investigation of NCA if “sensitive evidence” is published.
In a joint statement, Baroneh Moon and her husband said that the decision to hear evidence separately was a “blatant betrayal of transparency and justice” and accused NCA of carrying a “cruel campaign” against them.
The couple said: “While the investigation refused to exclude the MEDPro personal protection equipment, NCA handed over the ability to dictate the procedures behind the secrecy wall, ensuring that its copy of the events only – while we are deprived of the right to defend ourselves.”
in Social media yetBaroneh Moon said that she did not realize that the company “will be classified specifically” by the investigation until the end of February.
“Until then, it was understood that the discussions were general, as it covers the comprehensive purchases of PPE, and not targeting any individual entity,” she added.
The couple’s statement was issued after their second approach was rejected to create the main participants.
Barbna Hallett said that allowing the progress to move forward would have led to a “transformation of more resources” and caused “great disturbance” in the investigation schedule.
