Apple entered into a tangle with Siri and Apple Intelligence, where the official promised intelligence promotions were officially delayed and the company took a lot of criticism of that – but at least some of these late features can appear later this year.
in New York Times An article that abandons some AI’s recent problems from Apple, including internal friction on future plans, there is a mention that Siri will get certain upgrades “in the fall” in the United States – so perhaps in September, with iPhone 17 and iOS 19.
The article says: “The renewed Apple Siri company has not canceled,” says the article. “The company plans to issue a virtual assistant in the fall capable of doing things like editing and sending a picture to a friend upon request, three people said he is aware of his plans.”
This is not much – do we get some of the possibilities of editing additional photos, or a full range of late features? In the end, Apple wants to get Siri equally with Chatgpt or Gemini, but this may not happen in 2025.
Late features
The image editing feature mentioned in the NYT article is one of the Apple Intelligence Promises that I promised in 2024: Siri’s ability to search deeper into iPhone apps and take action on behalf of users via voice commands (known as the App App).
This is just part of the image though. Apple also said that Siri will get more intelligent in terms of context, and understand more about what is happening on your iPhone and more about you (by taking advantage of some of your personal data, in a special and safe way).
Once Siri gets these features, it will be more able to compete with its competitors in AI Chatbot. Only this week, for example, Chatgpt added a memory upgrade, which means that it can take advantage of the full conversation record to get answers, if necessary.
The Apple Intelligence features have already added to Siri include support for more natural language in conversations, and improving the technical assistance support for your devices. For iOS 19, he expects more hearing about updating the program at the beginning of June.
