After launching nearly three years ago, Meta’s Threads now reportedly attracts more mobile users daily than rival platform X. Similar web data shared by TechCrunchThreads had 141.5 million daily active users of its iOS and Android apps globally as of January 7, compared to 125 million users of Elon Musk’s mobile platform.
Similar reports indicate that Threads actually surpassed X still has more mobile users than Threads in the US, according to Sameweb, but it notes that Threads is catching up, and that X has half as many daily active mobile users in the US now as it did last year.
However, web traffic is another story. As of January 13, X was attracting 145.4 million daily web visitors, compared to just 8.5 million on Threads. Meta may have won the mobile battle, according to these new estimates, but with just 150 million daily users, it faces an uphill struggle to catch up to X’s 270 million-plus.
