James Gunn puts an end to Wonder Woman rumors, revealing which big movie will be optioned instead.
Gunn was asked on Threads if the role, which was last played by Gal Gadot, is currently being cast.
“Hey James, is it true that actors are auditioning for the role of Batman at the end of 2025? I saw this rumor in my feed,” one Threads user asked.
The capital’s commander explained that all rumors about such tests are false.
“No. All these rumors about auditions for Batman and Wonder Woman are false,” the Guardians of the Galaxy director wrote in a direct response.
Meanwhile, another user asked: “Are the Wonder Woman MoT leaks real? I try to avoid leaks unless they come from your mouth but the rumors have gotten so loud that it’s getting hard to ignore for many of us.”
In response, the director explained why the rumors were spreading, revealing that DC is casting a woman for the role Man of tomorrow (2027).
“No. We’re currently casting a female character in MoT. My only guess is that the scoops are trying to guess that this is WW,” Superman’s director replied.
Gunn has not revealed which character will be cast in the upcoming Superman sequel.
He has previously indicated that Wondar Woman will not be cast until the script is ready for the film.
“We also don’t cast WW, nor even discuss it, until the script is finished,” Gunn wrote on Threads.
The next movie DC is scheduled to release is a Milly Alcock movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
