Jenny and Georgia Star Sarah Weisglass weighed in on fans’ concerns surrounding Diesel La Torraca’s remarkable growth.
As fans will know, La Torraca plays fan-favorite character Austin.
In a new interview with Us WeeklyWaisglass addressed speculation about a possible recast while discussing her upcoming film How to lose a popularity contest
The actress reassured La Torraca’s fans of how he handles the attention.
“He’s doing a great job at it. He’s taking everything in stride,” Waisglass shared.
I kept thinking about how lucky young actors are to be able to grow into their roles.
“And how lucky are we all to have a job where we can grow?” She added.
Waisglass also pointed to La Torraca’s recent growth spurt, noting that his experience mirrors her own as a former child actress.
“He’s taller than me and he was always my peer because I was a child actress. So I remember being too young to spend time with adults but too old to spend time with people my own age. So I really get that,” she explained.
Reflecting on how quickly time flies, Weisglass admitted that watching La Torraca mature was surreal.
“It’s weird because I met him when he was 8 years old, and now this guy is talking about his process and stuff. It’s wild. But the funniest thing was the first time we read.”
“We’re always checking out the table. We’re like, ‘Hey, I’m playing with Max.’ We get to see Diesel and his deep voice. “We laughed so hard,” she concluded.
