The media shows you don’t hate them enough with a heated comment on Carolyn Leavitt about Trump’s interview – RedState

Gotta love old media and its lack of objectivity.

By that I mean you don’t, and they deserve to be called out for their bias on every point.

there Story on Sunday morning This includes Tony Dokoupil’s CBS interview with President Donald Trump.

New York Times The sound obtained One of the moments following Trump’s interview with Dokoupil in Michigan on Tuesday included warning Levitt, on behalf of the president, against cutting the tape.

“He said, ‘Make sure you guys don’t cut the tape, make sure the interview is complete,'” Leavitt said, according to the audio recording.

“Yes, we do, yes,” Dokoupil responded, according to the recording obtained by The Times.

“He said, ‘If it doesn’t come out in full, we’ll sue you,'” Leavitt continued, according to the outlet.

The New York Times noted that it was likely intended as a joke.

The Times reported that some CBS employees in attendance thought the remarks were in jest.

Dokoupil responded to Levitt with humor and said, “He always says that!”

Kim Harvey, executive producer of the “CBS Evening News,” was heard saying, “Oh, great, okay!”

CBS said they always intend to do the full interview.

But the New York Times was still portraying it as an attempt to dictate to the media if they “did not obey its orders.”

It’s a ridiculous idea. They didn’t care about the fact that CBS had a history of problematic edits, and that even though they now had a change at the top with Barry Weiss, the concern was legitimate. Not only was Kamala Harris’ controversial interview one of her speeches edited during the campaign, but there was a 60 Minutes article about the CECOT prison in El Salvador that would have run without current comment from the Trump administration, despite the administration submitting comment. Weiss removed the piece for this reason, but it was displayed in Canada.

But what the Times published shows how bias is still a problem in some media outlets. If it’s a joke, why do they treat it like “orders”? Moreover, shouldn’t they be showing the full interview, and doesn’t Levitt have every right to make sure they do? CBS is trying to do the right thing by putting the whole thing out there and letting people judge, rather than editing and shaping the narrative. What’s wrong with wanting to do the full interview? It’s a strange take from the Times. How dare the White House and CBS think that nothing should be hidden from the public?

Trump has shown, time and time again, that he is not afraid to give interviews, even to hostile media.

So, if the Times thinks this is going to make Trump or CBS look bad, it doesn’t. It makes times look bad.
