
Guy Fieri is on the mend after a serious accident sidelined him for weeks and left him using a temporary wheelchair.

Fieri revealed that the incident occurred while filming his new series. Food battle in Flavor Cityas he fell down the stairs and saw one of his feet sliding forward and the other holding onto the threshold. The fall resulted in a severe tear in his quadriceps muscle that required surgery in November.
“I’m in better shape,” Vieri said, describing the recovery process as difficult both physically and mentally. The injury forced him to slow down significantly for about eight weeks, which is a big adjustment for someone who does CrossFit and hikes regularly. He admitted that being sedentary gave him a new appreciation for daily movement and independence.
Doctors have urged him to take his recovery slowly, advice Fieri says he’s finally taking to heart. Looking back, he described the experience as “the worst thing I’ve been through in the last 20 years.”
The celebrity chef went on to add that he has no intention of pushing himself to that point again. He expressed optimism about being fully mobile by Super Bowl weekend.
During his recovery period, Fieri also saw his youngest son, Ryder, 20, stepping into the kitchen and benefiting from years of informal training. Ryder will join Fieri’s eldest son Hunter, 29, and nephew Jules, 26, at Flavortown Tailgate in Santa Clara next month.
