Luke Evans is officially entering the world of Broadway.

In a new interview with People magazineThe 46-year-old actor spoke about preparing for his Broadway debut The Rocky Horror Showis scheduled to premiere in March 2026.

For those not in the know, Evans will play the iconic Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the Roundabout Theater Company’s revival, the role made famous by Tim Curry in the 1975 film. The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

“I always wanted to be on Broadway, but I didn’t think I’d be in high heels and fishnets,” Evans admitted.

“I didn’t think it would be that way, but it is, and it’s going to be me, and I’m so excited about it.”

Heading into the first preview on March 26, 2026, Evans revealed that he was still experimenting with different interpretations of the character, keenly aware of the cultural weight of Frank-N-Furter.

“It’s a role I fully understand,” he said.

“Culturally, it’s been a part of our whole lives. You can’t get away from the music. Everyone knows at least one song from the show.”

Evans stressed that while his take on Frank-N-Furter will respect the legacy, it will also stand firmly on its own.

“To bring it to life, my version of Frank-N-Furter — which will be different and unique — is special,” he said, adding that performing at Studio 54 makes the experience even more convenient.

“It’s the best thing about this show, which is about fluidity and the feeling of ‘Don’t dream, be yourself, whoever you are,'” Evans explained.

“To do it in a place where hedonism was the norm, I think it was like the perfect home for it.”
