Pierce Brosnan, the well-known Hollywood star, raised the alarm about Netflix’s deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, which he considers “worrying.”
“Netflix gave me a business opportunity, but you have to be diligent and ask yourself: How do you now navigate these waters without getting tarnished and bitter about it?” He says The times.
“Having one dominant force color what we see, how we see it, and where we see it is a change that doesn’t feel culturally correct,” says the star.
But Dakota Johnson, on the other hand, seems to have a different view on the deal. “People will always strive to be creative and tell stories – I know that’s true. The way you work will shift and change over time. It always has.”
“Hollywood has been in a difficult situation since its inception, so now it is just another version of rebirth,” she previously said at the Red Sea Film Festival.
“And I see that, especially since I’ve been here at this amazing festival. The collaboration, the excitement, the ambition behind filmmaking, the support of filmmakers here, the stories being told here, the collaboration across states and countries is so beautiful and inspiring,” the actress added.
The Netflix deal appears to be moving forward after Warner Bros. rejected the deal. Discovery is a Paramount show.
