5 Husky Tools from Home Depot You’ll Love

Home Depot is one of the most popular hardware stores in the United States, offering a wide selection of tools from all major brands. And while most people walk in and look for Stanley, Milwaukee, Ryobi, or even Craftsman hand tools, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how great Home Depot’s brand tools are in terms of quality and price.

It’s easy to avoid home-brand tools for something you already know and trust, but Home Depot’s Husky line is actually pretty decent. I own several, from light bulbs to torque wrenches, car jacks, and more. With that in mind, here’s a bunch of affordable Husky tools at Home Depot that you’ll probably love.

Husky Stubby Ratchet and Socket Set

One of the most popular and highly rated hand tools offered by Husky is the 46-Piece Compact Ratchet and Socket Set. Even if you have a few latches, it’s never a good idea to have a few extras of different sizes.

More specifically, I’m referring to 3/8″ and 1/4″ Husky short combo packwhich comes with three built-in hand tools and dozens of accessories, all for under $30. Better yet, this product is constantly on sale, making it an even better buy.

The Husky Stubby set includes a screwdriver, wrench and ratchet, plus 22 sockets and over 20 additional accessories. It’s an excellent package that’s sturdy enough for tough DIY jobs around the house, but small enough for a quick wrench job under your car in a tight space.

Husky 3 ton floor jack with stands

While some car repairs are best left to the professionals, you can save a lot of money by doing simple tasks at home. I’m talking about things like changing your oil, rotating your tires, or even replacing your brake pads. All you need is a little time, patience, some basic tools and something like the Husky 3-Ton Floor Jack.

the Husky 3 ton floor jack with stand It can handle large vehicles weighing over 6,000 pounds, and can extend up to 17 inches off the ground, giving you enough room to complete a range of maintenance tasks.

Additionally, this hydraulic floor jack comes with two large jack stands, which you will definitely want to use for added safety. Once your car is raised to the desired height, use stands to support the weight of the car instead of a jack. This will keep things safe while extending the life of the grounded jack.

I really like that this floor jack is able to handle a lot of weight while providing stands at the same time.

Husky aluminum flashlight

You probably own a few flashlights tucked away in a junk drawer, a closet, or missing somewhere in the garage. I am too. However, I recently purchased two reasonably priced packages of exactly this Husky 500 Lumen Aluminum Flashlight At Home Depot, they are excellent.

Flashlights come in a variety of sizes, quality, and brightness levels, and I’m a big fan of the Olight brand. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive, durable and practical flashlight for emergency situations, you can place these husky lights around the house. It ranges from 500 to 1,000 lumens in turbo mode and features a rechargeable battery.

Although this is not necessarily a manual or power tool, a flashlight is an essential tool for many jobs, so don’t forget to purchase one.

Husky 1/2 inch torque wrench

Anyone looking to work on their car at home should own an adjustable torque wrench. While I also recommend using a battery-powered impact wrench, a torque wrench serves a different purpose, and it’s a very important one.

the Husky torque wrench 50 ft-lb to 250 ft-lb It is what you will use to lower nuts, bolts, spark plugs, or tire nuts to the proper level. When you rotate tires, you’re not supposed to turn those lug nuts as hard as you can until they stop rotating. Tires should actually be tightened to a specified torque, often between 80 and 120 foot-pounds.

Putting the tire lug nuts on too tightly can strip the lugs or pull out and break the entire wheel stud, which is very dangerous. This is just one scenario. Basically, you’ll need a torque wrench for all kinds of jobs, and you won’t need to spend big on a Snap-On or Matco either. The Husky is a good choice, often on sale for less than $60.

Although I don’t typically recommend these large tool sets, since you’re usually sacrificing quality for quantity, any beginner or DIY enthusiast looking for a starter kit can appreciate this option from Home Depot.

Husky 300-Piece Mechanics Tool Set It comes with 1/2-inch, 1/4-inch, and 3/8-inch, SAE and MM tools, and one $170 box will provide you with a large amount of hand tools for a wide range of jobs. Purchasing all of these items separately can cost upwards of $1,500, especially if you opt for premium brand tools. And while this is certainly not the best, it’s a capable little kit that you’ll probably love.

Most importantly, these tools come with a lifetime warranty, and if anything breaks, you can always visit your nearby Home Depot and get it replaced. I bought something similar years ago and used it extensively until I slowly amassed a bigger and better collection.

These are some of the most popular and most purchased Husky tools at Home Depot. And while the Husky is certainly not “the best,” these tools are decent at a great price.
