One of the officials said that the United States began striking dozens of targets in multiple locations in central Syria using fighter jets, attack helicopters, and artillery. A US official said that more than 70 targets were struck.

Hegseth announced in a Share on X On Friday, US forces began “Operation Hawk Eye Strike” in Syria “to eliminate ISIS fighters, infrastructure, and weapons sites in direct response to the attack on US forces.”
“Today we hunted down and killed our enemies,” Hegseth continued. “A lot of them. We will keep going.”
After the operation began, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement, “President Trump told the world that the United States would avenge the killing of our heroes at the hands of ISIS in Syria, and he is keeping that promise.”
