Cathedral of the Holy Angels: 640 Tyler Street – Join the Diocese of Gary in celebrating the conclusion of the Jubilee Year on January 4. Mass begins at 11 a.m., with Eucharistic adoration and confessions from 12 to 5 p.m., and solemn Vespers at 5 p.m.

Marquette Park United Methodist Church: 215 n. Grand Boulevard. – All are invited to worship at 11:15 a.m. Sundays at Marquette Park United Methodist Church. There will be refreshments afterwards in the Fellowship Hall.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church: 5304 Hohman Ave. — St. Joseph Catholic Church will hold “Donut Sunday” on the last Sunday of each month following a 9 a.m. mass. Free coffee and cake are provided in the church hall.

Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa: 5755 Pennsylvania Ave. — The catering team at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa is accepting “to go” holiday dinner orders through December 22. Menu items, which are packed warm and can be reheated at home, include devolage (a Polish version of the classic chicken Kiev), peach-stuffed pork, beef, mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, sauerkraut, apple-beet salad, and broccoli-cauliflower salad. Pick up time will be from 10am to 2pm on December 25th at the Millennium Hall. Our Lady Queen of Martyrs – South Campus: 8303 Taft Street – Join Bishop Robert J. McClory in celebrating Simbang Gabi at 4pm on December 20th. Simbanggabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition of nine days of mass during the Christmas season. The mass will be followed by a reception.

Gary Diocese Office: 9292 Broadway – The diocese will accept hats, scarves and gloves for donations to a hat drive for children at its Merrillville office during the month of January. The parish is helping the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Gary County Council, collect new or handmade hats, scarves and gloves. St. Thomas More Church: 8501 Calumet Ave. — St. Thomas’s annual More Lessons and Carols program will be set from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 21. The hymns follow nine lessons from the Bible to tell the human story of God’s love for humanity, from creation to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Schererville

Saint George Greek Orthodox Church: 528 West 77th Ave. – St. George Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual St. George Ladies Philoptochos Holiday meeting at noon on Jan. 11 for brunch at Toast & Jam in Schererville. Breakfast and brunch are $30 for members and $40 for non-members and include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, savory pancakes, fried chicken, fresh veggies, dessert, coffee, hot and iced tea, and soda.
