
President Donald Trump’s efforts to crack down on crime in Washington, D.C., and Memphis, Tennessee, have led to more than 10,000 arrests, according to internal data shared with The Daily Caller.
During the first year of his administration, Trump appointed an interagency task force for each city to focus on public safety.
Since it began its efforts in D.C. in August, law enforcement and National Guard officers have made 7,526 criminal arrests and 2,469 administrative arrests, according to data shared with the caller. In Memphis, Tennessee, over the past three months, the task force has made 4,115 criminal arrests and 691 administrative arrests. (RELATED: Numbers Don’t Lie: Trump’s D.C. Campaign is a Success)
“President Trump’s bold actions in American cities this year have significantly reduced crime by taking dangerous criminals and illegal weapons off the streets,” White House Press Secretary Abigail Jackson told The Caller.
“Despite intense opposition from Democrats who are dysfunctional because of Trump, President Trump’s policies have saved missing children, made communities safer, and proven that law enforcement matters. As the new year approaches, President Trump will pull no punches when it comes to making America safe again!”

In Memphis, a total of 31 federal and local law enforcement agencies and 1,541 Tennessee National Guard soldiers confiscated 637 illegal firearms and recovered 124 missing children, data shared with Caller shows. A total of 28 federal and law enforcement agencies and 2,686 National Guard soldiers are on the streets of Washington, D.C., in addition to local police, The Caller has learned. In total, they confiscated 734 illegal firearms and recovered 16 missing children.
Two National Guard members were shot and killed in Washington, D.C. while patrolling the city in November. West Virginia Army National Guard specialist Sarah Beckstrom died from her injuries, while Air Force Sgt. Andrew Wolfe is slowly recovering.
