Jeremy Renner has been caught up in controversy after new accusations surfaced

Jeremy Renner has found himself in the headlines again after Chinese director Yi Zhou accused him of sending her inappropriate messages and threatening to involve immigration authorities.

the Avengers But the star vehemently denied all the allegations, calling them false and damaging.

Renner’s attorney, Marty Singer, said the director’s story was entirely fabricated out of revenge after he rejected her romantic interest and chose not to support her film projects.

Singer called the allegations “outrageous” and said Renner had done nothing wrong.

Yi Zhou claimed that the actor sent her explicit photos in June and became aggressive when she confronted him.

She claimed that Renner warned her that he would “contact ICE,” referring to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The actor’s legal team shared a different account, saying the two had only met twice.

Their first meeting reportedly occurred in July in Reno, Nevada, during an interview with Cho in the documentary The Disney Chronicles.

Singer added that their interaction was rather brief and consensual, and that they had not spoken since their second meeting in August.

According to Singer, Cho later began sending Renner hundreds of unsolicited messages, which continued for several months.

He claimed that her last message came in late October and that the star stopped responding long before that.

“Ms. Cho has relentlessly pursued my client for months with no response,” Singer said in his statement.

For the uninitiated, Chu’s representatives have yet to publicly respond to Renner’s comments.
