President Donald Trump has endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy to be Ohio’s next governor, praising Ramaswamy as “something special” and saying he is “a very good person, who really loves” the United States.
In a mail On Truth Social, Trump noted that if elected governor, Ramaswamy would “fight tirelessly” to cut taxes and regulations, work to “grow the economy” and keep the southern border secure, among other issues.
“Vivek Ramaswamy will make a great governor of Ohio, and he has my full and complete support – he will never let you down!” Trump said.

Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the great state of Ohio, a place he loves and has won three times, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!
I know Vivek well, I competed with him, which is something special. He’s young, strong and smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who really loves our country. As your next Governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to grow the economy, lower taxes and regulations, promote US product, uphold US energy dominance, maintain and secure our now very secure border, stop immigrant crime, strengthen our military/veterans, ensure law and order, strengthen election integrity, and always protect our 2nd Amendment blockade.
Ramaswamy, who was a Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential race, filed paperwork in February to run for governor of Ohio in the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election.
After filing papers for his gubernatorial campaign, Ramaswamy announced that he was running to be the state’s next governor, and stated that he would “lead Ohio to being a state of distinction.”
“We need a leader here at home who will revive our conviction in Ohio, and that is why, today, I am honored to announce that I will be running to be the next governor of a great state, in the heart of the greatest nation known to mankind,” Ramaswamy said at the time. “The state where I was born and raised. The state where Apoorva and I are raising our two sons today. The state whose best days are still ahead. I am honored to announce my candidacy for the next Governor of Ohio.”
Ramaswamy, who has previously received the endorsement of President Trump, also has the Republican Party’s endorsement in Ohio.
