Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has reportedly had his phone records subpoenaed as part of former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigations into President Trump and the January 6, 2021 protest at the Capitol.
Cruz is now the ninth known GOP senator whose phone records Smith has requested.
He joins Senators Marsha Blackburn (TN), Ron Johnson (Wisconsin), Bill Hagerty (TN), Josh Hawley (MO), Cynthia Lummis (Wisconsin), Lindsey Graham (SC), Dan Sullivan (AKD), and Tommy Tuberville (Albany), according to a statement issued earlier by a Senate committee From this month.
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) has also been arrested in the investigation known as “Arctic Frost.”

The document, reviewed by Axios, was an extensive search of names and addresses, along with “detailed logs of incoming and outgoing calls, text messages, direct contact, and voicemail messages” associated with Cruz’s cellphone between January 4 and 7, 2021.

Senator Hawley has previously responded to reports that his phone records have been searched with the right level of anger.

Hawley called for the prosecution of those involved in trying to trace his and his colleagues’ communications.
