it’s not Saturday Night Live Without Weekend Update, as always, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che.
This week’s desk segment covered a slew of headlines from the past few days, including the presidential pardon of former Republican Representative Jorge Santos, Politico’s report on a leaked racist group chat from the Young GOP, and of course the latest bizarre comments and antics from President Trump.
“Trump told reporters, ‘I don’t think there’s anything that will get me into heaven,'” Jost joked. Then he paused for a full ten minutes waiting for someone to say, “That’s not true.” He added, “Because Trump can’t go to heaven. “He’s too busy here running hell.”
The clip also gave a nod to Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, who led his team to an NLCS Series win over the Milwaukee Brewers by hitting a three-run home run. and He pitched six scoreless innings with ten strikeouts.
“It’s a feat that only Jorge Santos has previously achieved,” Jost quipped.
