On October 16, Tom Patcek revealed the latest nail trend, unveiling the 28-year-old bride’s new “Skim Milk Almond Latte Mani.” Instagram. Just like the Milky Raspberry Milky Rose and Matcha Latte nails that came before it, the name is derived from the shade used to achieve the look. In this case, Basik chose a nail polish that resembles a creamy latte with a healthy dose of almond milk, not to be confused with deeper brown shades like mocha mousse or straight espresso.
The beauty of this nude nail look is its versatility, as it goes well with any outfit without feeling quite as stripped-down as the barely-there manicures favored by celebrities last summer. However, it’s pretty much as simple as you can get without opting for a completely sheer look, and avoiding the iridescent finish that creates the toasted effect that’s been so popular this fall.
While the color itself is a combination of almond milk and espresso, Steinfeld also chose an elegant, medium-length almond shape, adding a second meaning to the moniker.
