Keke Palmer has never shied away from bold fashion and beauty choices, but even she admits that some looks from the past wouldn’t be appropriate today.
In a new episode of Actually I am with gq, Palmer thought about her sophisticated style, the one look she now considered her most embarrassing.
While answering a fan’s question about the most embarrassing thing she’s ever done, Palmer didn’t hesitate to turn the conversation to fashion.
“Look for pictures of me at Comic-Con,” she said, referring to her 2016 appearance at San Diego Comic-Con for Scream Queens.
Describing the memorable look, she laughed, “I look like a Mortal Kombat character. My hair is shaved all over, and I have one braid. One single braid.”
Palmer joked that no one around her alerted her: “The fact that the girls never asked me to look in the mirror…they secretly hated me.”
Despite her criticism, she still receives praise for her past courage. “She was bold, she was fierce, she was unafraid, she was fashionable,” Palmer said, recalling that moment. “No matter how disappointed I looked, I did my best.”
Today, however, Palmer seems more grounded in a specific aesthetic, especially her hair. Referring to her current copper hue, which she debuted in January 2025, she announced, “I’m going to tell you all today, I will never leave this copper. It’s not leaving.”
The actress and singer’s candid reflection is another reminder of her authenticity and willingness to laugh at herself, all while embracing her journey through beauty and fashion.
