Selena Gomez gave a fitting response to Hailey Bieber’s apparent dig in a now-deleted Instagram post on Saturday.
Rude founder Hayley, 28, was asked how her cosmetics brand compared to Selena’s Rare Beauty by Sephora shoppers.
talking to Wall Street Journal. magazine Haley said this week that she “doesn’t feel competitive with people I don’t inspire” and described the constant comparisons as “annoying”.
Newlywed Selena, 33, has since responded to Hailey’s comments, saying: “She can say whatever she wants and it doesn’t affect my life,” before urging fans to “leave the girl alone.”
The full post read: “She can say whatever she wants. It doesn’t affect my life at all. It’s just about relevance not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me. There’s room for everyone. Hopefully we can all stop by.”
There is an interesting long and complex history between the two. Hailey is married to singer Justin Bieber, with whom she has a son, Jack, but Justin was previously romantically involved with Selena on and off from 2010 to 2018.
In 2009, Justin and Selena met for the first time when they were introduced by their managers. The following year, the pair sparked romance rumors after they were spotted on a date.
Both Selena and Hailey have publicly denied having a feud, but fans continue to speculate that tensions still exist — often stemming from their shared history with Justin.
