Kevin Federline says his kids are fully aware of what’s written in his upcoming memoir, and they’re OK with it.
In a new interview with additional On Thursday, October 16, the 47-year-old former dancer said that Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, his sons with Britney Spears, gave him the blessing to share his side of the story in his book. I thought you knewwhich will be released on October 21.
“My kids are old enough to understand and approve of what I do,” Federline explained, referring to parts of the memoir that discuss their childhood and his past relationship with Spears.
Federline and Spears were married from 2004 to 2007, and his memoir revisits some of the most public moments of their relationship, including a 2007 incident when the Toxic singer shaved her head.
He claims she had just gotten out of rehab and showed up at his house screaming “let me in” before climbing over his front gate.
“I couldn’t bear to see her like that,” he writes, saying he refused to let her in because he believed she was “in no condition to be around our children.”
According to him, Spears left and later went to a gas station, where she was photographed attacking photographers with an umbrella.
The book also includes other serious allegations about Spears’ behavior during their marriage.
Federline claims she drank alcohol while taking the medication and was pregnant, and once used cocaine before trying to breastfeed her sons.
“This combination was…dangerous. Honestly, frankly,” he wrote.
“She’s not supposed to drink when she’s taking medications like that. Two glasses of wine for her would be a whole bottle because of the medication.”
He also claims that after Spears’ term ended in 2021, her “erratic” online behavior led to their sons staying away from social media to avoid seeing disturbing posts about her.
Federline also explains what he calls a “breaking point” in 2023, when Spears allegedly told one of her sons that she wished “he, his brother, and their father would all die” after a falling out.
“To his credit, Preston confronted her,” he wrote.
“He exposed her lies and refused to accept her story. Her response was horrific: she told him she wished he, his brother and me would all die.”
He said hearing his son recount the conversation “devastated” him and believes the moment “left scars” that his children may carry forever.
In response, a representative for Spears shared a statement with the people On Tuesday, October 14, he addressed the allegations in Federline’s memoir.
“With the news from Kevin’s book, he and others are once again taking advantage of it, and unfortunately this comes after Kevin’s child support has ended,” the statement read.
“All she cares about is her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this excitement. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
