Editors note: This review is dedicated to the version of 2021 Kindle Paperwhite Signature. A new model was released in 2024. For the latest information, check our review of the Kinler Paperwhite Signature Edition (2024) (2024).
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, although the huge name is a simple device. It is exactly the same fifth generation of Kindle Paperle White, but it costs $ 40 more and has four upgrades: 32 GB of memory (higher than 16 GB), wireless charging, automatically adjusting the front light, and lack of ads.
Since we have already proven that standard Paperwhite is a great Kindle but also an electronic reader, the concentration of this review is simple: to see if these four improvements deserve additional money.
We have tried all Amazon Kindle to find the best for each Bliophyll
A completely great electronic reader
My colleague Alex Perry has reviewed the fifth regular paper paper, but here is my basic impressions (coming from a person whose primary reader was now from the second generation).
The new Kindle Paperwhite is the right size and sits completely in my hands. It is also ready for the beach, with the IPX8 classification, which is great for me, especially when compared to the iPad mini, which does not officially resist water.
The USB-C shipping port at the bottom was an upgrade that touched the need from the MicroUSB port on the previous paper.

I have only one beef with the design of the device, and this is the fact that Amazon moved the power button to the bottom from the top, which took some accustomed to it. (It should be noted that this change occurred in the previous repetition of the paper.)
The new Paperwhite is much faster than my old model, but it may be faster, especially when browsing through the menus. The battery lasts forever, and the presence of a USB-C port instead of the old MicroUSB connector is a blessing.
All you need to know about Kindle bonuses

Compared to the third generation Paperwhite Paperwhite, new books are formed similar to the typical book, which is not a bad thing.

One thing you will not get this Kindle is ads. Compared to ads on some other devices, ads on the Homscreen screen in Kindle are almost not almost intrusive, but I am still the best ads on something I paid for. You can remove the Kindle foundation for an additional $ 20, but then the two -two price difference is only $ 20, which means that you must really look at the other additions you get with the Signature version.
You know what they say about memory: more always better. However, unless you are a fierce reader or have sent a set of patrols constantly to your Kindle, you won’t need more than 8 GB. Kindle Paperwhite SE contains 32 GB, which is an exaggeration, but it is comfortable knowing that you will never worry about storage.
When this review was originally published, Kindle PaperWhite cost $ 139.99 to storage 8 GB. This training is no longer displayed, and the current basic model includes 16 GB for $ 149.99. Therefore, there is a smaller price gap between the standard model and the distinctive version now at $ 40 compared to the previous $ 50, which makes these rewards more worthy of upgrade.
Whether wireless charging will be worth it for you, it completely depends on whether you usually use it in other scenarios. All kinds of Kindles have a great battery life, so you will not ship it much. I have wireless charging devices in my car and spread all over the house, so the ability to throw Kindle on it and make it a nice charge, if it is marginal.

Magsafe is not the best way to charge Kindle Paperwhite Signature, but it works!

Enjoyable fact: I tried to charge the Kindle Paperwhite SE using the Apple magnet charger for iPhone, not just working, but the charger is rising (almost almost) to Kindle as IPhone does. Very great.
Screen, mechanism
The last significant improvement in the Kindle Paperwhite Signature version is the offer.
The 600 -inch screen, 300PPI, is clear, beautiful, beautiful, and your eyes will not get tired even after long reading sessions. The edges on the sides and the top of the device are much smaller than the previous repetition, but there is still enough space to set up your fingers without stirring the page by mistake.

The screen now makes brightness modifications on its own.

Now to get the big difference between the regular version and the Paperwhite SE: automatically adjust the front light. The best way to explain the importance of this feature is to think about smartphones: literally for every one modern smartphone this feature. You don’t think much about it, but if someone takes the advantage away, you will definitely notice.
It is similar to Paperwhite. The screen automatically puts brightness depending on the amount of light in your environment. I love reading in a very dim light, and Kindle puts the screen brightness to a large extent as I will do. The device supports the dark mode (a bright text on the dark background), and if it turns into it, it re -modified the brightness accordingly. I love the feature, and although I can live without it, I will miss a little bit of having to manually control brightness again.
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition battery life
I must have one of the Kindle PaperWhite fees up to 10 weeks. Although we did not run the electronic reader for 10 weeks until his death, we can say that he had an excellent battery life based on our use.
Is it worth the Kindle PaperWhite Signature?
This may be because I am biased at Apple Reviews – Apple receives an arm and additional legs and additional features – but I feel that the Kindle Paperwhite Signature version is worth it.
For $ 50, do not get ads ($ 20 value), wireless charging, 32 GB, and an improved screen. Nothing is necessary, but it seems that you get good value for your money.
