Dyson V16 Piston Animal: Review for two minutes
Based on my first impressions – I will write a full review when I had more time with it – V16 Piston Animal is an incredibly good vacuum, but with one specific issue it can be deals for some potential buyers.
Let’s start with good bits. The dust compressor works very well and is a logical and useful addition. It gives you more time to clean without having to empty the container often, and when it comes to empty the box, the same mechanism expels the contents easily, without the need to participate.
Dyson is re -attached to the attachment mechanism so that you can connect and release the attachments at the end of the stick without having to bend. This seems to be an effort provider, and it should also help those with mobility problems.
It is almost without saying that the suction is excellent, and the battery gives you a wide cleaning time without having to stop recharging. Like her ancestors, Gen5dtect and V15 Discovery, there is an automatic mode that provides a smart modification based on the type of floor and dirt levels. In V16, though, it will not only set suction but also the speed of the cylinder, for the most effective hygiene in the battery.
Dyson also gave the head of the floor a completely different design – this is where my main problem is. The conical rollers work well to prevent hair tangles, but the pointed shape means that the head of the floor reaches a light point on the front side, which is pain when you try to clean along the straight edge of the room.
Read more information about the new pioneer Dyson and my experience with her so far, and she is achieved again within a week or two for full and in -depth judgment.
Dyson v16 Piston Animal Review: PRICE & TAVARE
- List price: 749.99 pounds sterling / AU 1,349 dollars (TBC)
- Launch: September 2025
- Available: UK and Agree now, the United States at some point in 2026
The V16 Piston Animal was revealed in the beginning of September, and it is now for sale in regions including the United Kingdom and Australia. It will be available in the United States, but not until some time in 2026.
The normal version price is 749.99 pounds / 1,349 dollars (the price of the American menu will be issued closer to the date of launch). A submarine version, with an additional ground head, is also available at a list of 899.99 pounds sterling / 1,599 dollars.
For comparison, the predecessor of this model, Gen5DETECT, is 769.99 pounds / 1,549 dollars. The model is down, as the V15 is discovered, it is 649.99 pounds / 1,449 dollars.
These prices put the V16 firmly in the excellent price chip, and make it one of the most expensive spaces in the market. It is interesting to note that it is actually a little cheaper than Gen5DETETECT in the UK (although this older model will attract more discounts).
I will make a final call for the value for money as soon as I had more time to test the V16 Out, but on the first impressions, it looks and feels reliable. It has been designed carefully and full of features – including some you cannot find anywhere on the market. I will not claim that it is not comfortable to spend it on a vacuum.

Dyson V16 Piston Animal Review: Design
- Redupping an anti -nitrate floor with conical rollers
- Hand pressure arm on a basket
- Automatic energy modification and cylinder speed based on the type of floor
The V16 piston is a distinctive void of wireless stick with a number of useful features, many of which are new in this device.
The key is among these – and the cause of the name “piston” is a pressure lever on the cup of dust. This can be pushed down to the dust and hair permit and increase the ability of a tank, as it is designed to wipe the soft debris from inside the cup, and be useful in an effective emptying.
The second addition is the red cuff at the top of the vacuum stick. This can be pushed down to release the Earth’s head without having to bend. The laying section of the Earth’s head is designed to sit straight at an angle, so that you can also capture it on the stick from the standing position.
Talking about the head of the Earth: This looks completely different from anything you have seen before. Instead of being in the shape of a tube, the rollers here are disappointed. The idea is that the shape of the swamps moves long hair to the narrow end where it can be absorbed, instead of leaving it for tangle. This ground head is designed for both solid floors and carpets, and it is placed with laser to shed light on dirt that may be missed.
The main part of the void contains a shiny end, and Dyson has added a section lined over the fist of the hand for more comfort. It is run using a button instead of the trigger, the battery is removable and switched.
This is the first Dyson vacuum to be properly “connected”, with the Companion app that provides cleaning summaries and advanced setup options. There is a screen on the same device to provide information, including the duration you left on the battery.
The screen will also provide you with actual time reports on the size and number of particles it absorbs, as it cleans. This works with the “Auto” mode for V16, where the void will automatically adjust the suction and brush speed (recently) based on the type of floors that are operated and its strength.
Details tools will differ slightly depending on the model you choose, but there are some prominent promotions. The hair screw tool now has an elastic band across the front to help reduce the “stuck” hair for upholstery. Hide inside the stick there are two violent cracks – one at the top, connected to the main part of the vacuum, and the other in the bottom of the stick, it was revealed if you remove the head of the earth. Because of the designer laying mechanism, none of the tools are compatible with other voids of DYSON.
Dyson V16 Piston Animal Review: Performance
- Dust pressure is great, and the design makes it easy to empty
- Excellent suction, but is not significantly different from the previous models in practice
- The head of the floor is pain in emptying the edges of the rooms
After a clean house with V16, I admire in some respects but less than that in others. I will start performing public suction. As I expected, this is excellent. I tested the void in a four -storey house with a solid floor, a lot of carpets, and black spen, and had no problem absorbing wonderful quantities of dust, dirt and hair.
In automatic mode, I could hear the strength and brush wandering up and down when I moved to different areas and on different types of floors. I have found dust reports on the screen as sedition ever, although I am still not sure that it is useful.
Officially, the V16 has the largest suction of any DYSON stick, but in the first impressions, I didn’t really notice a difference in the ability to clean compared to cleaning using the V15 (the usual vacuum of this house, and we are the bells down of the V16 – although the number might have, Gen5dtect sits in the middle). I will perform some suction tests along with the three to see if there is a difference I do not see.
V16 feels a little anxious in the hand, but the section lining over the manual fire is a welcome addition and helps to increase comfort. I am in two decades about the button process. For longer cleaning sessions, it is good not to have to constantly pressure the trigger, but for quick cleaning, it is somewhat exhausting that you have to keep the hand free from running the device and turning it off (you cannot reach the button that is sweeping your own).
I also don’t completely sell on top of the new floor. Although it works well to ignore hair, the new design requires the long front side of the Earth to reach a light point instead of being in a straight line. This means that you cannot approach the edges of the front rooms-instead, you should enter from the side. Soon it becomes very annoying.
Otherwise, it burns well but feels more than that than the previous Dysons (and other voids that you have tested). I found the laser useful to highlight the dust in the corners of the corners.
The quick version works well and is available for voltage, but the joints in general are a little more solid than other voids that you used. It is also a shame that the current attachments will not work with V16.
More than success is dust compressor. This is a strong victory. The mechanism works to treat, and it means that you can put more cleaning without having to do many trips to garbage. It also makes the void easier than most of the wireless voids that I used.
These are my thoughts so far – check the full review, including the results of the official suction tests for Techradar, when I had more time to put a V16 pisphere through its steps.
