Family corridors appeared in airport security: NPR

There are new family -friendly security lines that have appeared in airports throughout the country. It is a way to give people who travel with children additional time to get less.

Juanna Samarz, host:

Anyone who traveled with children knows that it can be a lot. There are pressure to overcome security and that peak of the anxiety that you suffer as you are struggling to fold your children’s cart while watching your little baby. Well, there may now be some hope for travel families. The Transport Security Administration offers families to the Fly program. Marianne Samal, along with the public media in central Florida, examined these new family -friendly corridors.

Unseen TSA customer: empty pockets?

Marian Summerall, byline: With a child on her back and two children clinging to her legs, Emily Manley is approaching the security checkpoint at Orlando International Airport.

Emily Manley: I have three. Three of these are me.

Summerall: They are on their way to Oregon and are directed to the family corridor – a new concept of transport security management, or TSA.

Manley: Tell us the way down. They are like, they walk there. There is a family friend line. They were very sweet for all children.

Summerall: I was relieved that there were not many other people about rushing to roam security to take their trips. In this way, her children are not separated from her.

Manley: The other people you have experienced – like, as you know, hinder them, like, physically, with passing until we do not pass at the same time, which is scary for children.

Summerall: Actually, TSA says it will not separate children from the guardians in these corridors, and the examination procedures that say they are challenged.

Garcia House: You are an expert there. Yes, I have all over.

Samal: Garcia’s house helps some families arrange their boxes. He is the director of security in TSA here.

Garcia: You see the number of children and young children. We want to be able to provide as much help and bring them as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Samal: Garcia says there is more patience and help for families with young children.

Garcia: Often, they will be – they may be in a standard lane, as you know, mixed there with travelers from businessmen and other people, and they may feel – a burden.

Summerall: But not in this corridor. Emily Manley can quietly gather all her children and property after passing through a TSA checkpoint.

Manley: It’s so nice. I love anything, like, directed towards families because you do not find them much.

Samal: To the side of Orlando, at least 10 other airports, including Oklahoma City, Tamba, Salt Leck City and Charlotte, have launched family friendly security corridors, and TSA says more in business.

Unlimited person: You have a safe trip.

(He laughed)

Summerall: For NPR news, I am Marian Samaral in Orlando.
