The rare “Blood Moon” lunar “Blood Moon” will be shown from the United Kingdom on Sunday evening for the first time since 2022.
The moon is expected to turn into a dark surreal red color while the Earth passes directly between the sun and the moon, and it will receive its shadows across the moon.
According to the MET office, the moon will take a reddish color because it will be shed light on the light that passed through the Earth’s atmosphere and returns again towards the moon by refraction, and the blue light spreads and allows the lengths of the red waves to reach the moon.
When the sky is clear, Eclipse will be visible at about 7:30 pm on Sunday. Met office recommends that people see the phenomenon plan to be somewhere with a clear vision of the eastern horizon as possible, and ready for the lunar eclipse to the peak in the United Kingdom at 7.33 pm. In built areas, this may mean going to a hill or point of view.
The eclipse – which is sometimes referred to as “blood moon” – will be visible to the naked eye, and unlike the solar eclipse, its width is directly because the reflected moonlight is not bright.
Dr. Ed Bloomer, astronomer at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, said that the moon will rise on the United Kingdom in time until people see the end of the eclipse. He said: “The moon is unambiguous in the sky, so the most important thing is to face the right direction.
“It will rise to the east, heading south throughout the night. With its height, the most important thing will be all that is low on your horizon. The flat landscape, or the high position makes the best vision – literally so that there are no things like buildings, trees or other things on the way.
“The lunar eclipse like this represents a great opportunity to monitor with children as well. It has not been too late for us in the UK, and the goal is nice, easy and accurate per minute, you will notice changes (good for short interest exercises).”
People who are eager to see the eclipse are advised to verify expectations in their area during the weekend, but MET office said that the sky is clearer to see the blood satellite is likely to be across the southwest and parts of eastern England.
The Royal Observatory said that the next partial lunar eclipse will not be until August 2026. Other regions are in a good position to watch the eclipse, including Australia, China, India, the Philippines and parts of Africa.
But most of North and South America will be completely absent because it will be on the light side of the sun during the event.
Throughout history, the moons of the blood sparked dread and myths. The ancient cultures were interpreted from Scandinavian to South America, the original American to the Chinese, the red moon as a sign of divine anger or the supernatural conflict of nature, while the biblical texts warned that “the sun will turn into darkness and moon into the blood before the day of the Lord comes, that is a great and terrible day.”
